Karnataka CET results 2013 announced, eligible candidates alerted via mobile phones

Course fees will be reimbursed for first five toppers in engineering and medical courses, says higher education minister

The results of the Common Entrance Test (CET) 2013, held on May 1 and 2 of 2013, was announced on Tuesday evening. The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has, for the first time, sent the results to eligible candidates on their mobiles.
This year, 1,39,260 applied for the entrance test, of which1,37,560 candidates appeared for the test. Out of the 1,37,560 candidates, 38,623 candidates are eligible for medical and dental courses, 68,943 for Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy, 91,808 for engineering courses and 816 for architecture courses.
However, for the first time, the CET was conducted even for agriculture and veterinary courses. 74,737 candidates are eligible for agriculture (BSc Agri) course, 72,394 for veterinary (BVsc) course, 73,316 food technology and 10,0948 for agriculture technology course.
In addition, the state higher education minister RV Deshpande said the course fees will be reimbursed for the first five toppers in engineering and medical courses, in an attempt to encourage meritorious students.
38,494 students from rural and 87,000 from urban areas are eligible for seats this time. The number of eligible candidates from Horanadu Kannadiga category is 788 and Gadinadu Kannadiga is 531.
The first three toppers in the engineering stream are Prajwal KA, Sucheth S Kuncham and Manu SH, all from Vidya Vardhaka Sangha Sardar Patel PU college in Bangalore.
Hemath Amardeep Santhoo, who is the topper in medicine/dental, also got first rank in the Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy (ISM and H), Medha Narayana Rao, who is the second topper in medicine/dental, also received second rank in ISM and H and Vivek B Maleyur, the third topper in medicine/dental stream, also got the third rank in ISM and H.
CET counselling from June 5
The KEA has decided to begin the process of counselling from June 5, 2013. The document verification at help centres will begin from June 5. For more details about document verification, candidates must visit the official website of the KEA.

Eligible candidates can mark their option entries from June 15, 2013 to June 26, 2013, as per the seat matrix notified by the government. The dummy allotment will be done on June 27, 2013, and the candidates have the option of making last minute changes and obtain the final allotment on June 29, 2013.

Those whose ranks have not been announced yet, should approach the officials at the KEA along with their original marks sheet of the eligible examinations and the KEA will allot spot ranks.
